Update on Keytruda after 6 Infusions

It’s been and interesting ride with Keytruda, and after the initial 6 infusions things are stable. When starting Keytruda my PSA was 34 after the initial 3 infusions my PSA dropped to a low of 11. The next 3 infusions my PSA has risen to 13 but has stayed stable. My latest scans showed only two active lymph nodes and a small spot on my left hip. So overall I’m happy with the results and hope I can stay stable for a long period of time.

I’ll keep posting as I continue to receive Keytruda! The thing I like best about this drug is I’ve had no side effects that I can point to.

certainly sounds like good news! I wish I could have had those kind of results with LU 177...OR that I could have tried Keytruda instead. Your PSA was like mine a year ago...and now mine is close to 1000. It's not made me a happy camper. Enjoy the great results from Keytruda!gJohn

Thanks John,

I know our paths have been similar. I always respond great at the start and then things go south.

Hang in there brother!

You are so lucky! Keytruda did not work for my husband. PSA went up and it wiped out his saliva - 11 months and counting. Zero Saliva. We hope you have continued success!!! 💙

Sorry to hear that KEYTRUDA didn’t work for your husband, I know it’s a hit or miss drug. The no saliva sounds horrible. I hope for the best for both of you!

I'm sorry to hear this too. He/we have enough to deal with I cant imagine adding this to the mix.

I'm not sure if many realize saliva is a critical player in our digestive system as a whole.

Maintains proper PH of our stomach acid as just one example.

Good for you! I had a great year on Keytruda (until it started failing) very few side effects and when it worked, it worked great. (I was also SO happy that my Medicare Advantage plan covered the infusions because, according to my paperwork, the provider billed price was almost $60,000 for the six week dosage. Not a cheap drug.)

So happy to hear your good results..my husbands labs yesterday still show psa undetectable since 6/2019 after ONLY 2 doses of Keytruda its unbelievable how just 2 treatments achieved such results. He does have cirrhosis the start of it not from Keytruda but years and years of eating poorly and drinking. I wish you continued success it really is a miracle when it works.

Great news for your response to Keytruda. After chemo (docetaxel) did not work for me, I was put on Keytruda. PSA went from 21 to 0.11 after one treatment. Then undetectable for 16 straight months. Gleason score was 10 (5+5) and pc was in bladder neck and at least two lymph nodes. I was on Lupron the whole time but not sure how much that helped. I was on Lupron when given chemo and psa continued to rise. My genomic test showed MSI-high, so I was a good candidate for Keytruda. You are right about minimal side effects. For me, some diarrhea and arthritis in knuckles. Lupron continues to give me low red blood cell count, but does not affect daily activities. Two year treatment ends for me next April. Good luck to you, me, and all others.

So very happy for your results. I was actually in the clinical trial for keytruda and the results were very encouraging. Fast forward a couple of years and I needed to try it again. Surprisingly the side effects were so bad I had to stop the treatment. Sick, sore, tired. That was my last treatment. Letting it run its course now and that is fine.

Thanks for the support and I hope to get at least some time with Keytruda as right now it’s my only option.

I wish you peace and pain free time with family and friends.

Peace!
