We have turned down 2 trials in past .My husband wasn’t wanting Chemo but had agreed! I don’t know why we would think about a trial at this point. He has been having more lower back past 2 weeks! Anyone’s thoughts on trial vs chemo.
Finished Xofigo PSA over 800 Oncolgis... - Advanced Prostate...
Finished Xofigo PSA over 800 Oncolgist says time for Chemo also wants us to talk about a trial why would we?
I would consider the Lu 177 PSMA trials. Lu 177 PSMA treatment has shown to prolong life in heavy pretreated patients and it may be more effective than Jevtana in controlling the cancer for a while.

There are also trials for Ac 225 PSMA which may be more effective then Lu 177 PSMA if there are many bone metastases:

Thanks will check those out!
I wish you the best of luck!!.
Lu 177 PSMA does not have major side effects unless there is diffuse and extensive infiltration of the bone marrow by the cancer. They will know about this when they do the PSMA PET/CT before treatment. I had the treatment in 2016, without any problems. I had nodes mets only at that time.
As you know, Xofigo has little effect on PSA. Chemo is good at relieving pain. What trial is it you're considering?
I don’t know that yet appt on 11/30 .It does involve Taxotere which is the chemo he was to start Dec 6th
My husband is on Late Chemo. No pain issues so far. We are grateful for his continued quality of life.
His first chemo was in 2019. The second started about a month ago. My husband failed xofigo in October. Every single MO has a bag of tricks - 2 separate chemos are typically considered.
No: xofigo failed your husband. I hate the implication when doctors say, "you failed A-B-C." Why won't they take responsibility for the failure of THEIR treatment?
Our Oncologist did! He called the Radiologist Oncologist to ask him about it! He was upset when we saw him 2 weeks ago and we have had several calls from him on these next treatments! We have no issue with him .
He has not responded to anything so far. PSA climbs. Mets increase.
That is my husband also. He has severe pain in his pelvis. Now using a walker. Nothing is slowing this done.
Sorry to hear! hate this cancer hopefully you have no issues coping with his pain! We have always had meds to help
You may want to consider bipolar androgen therapy.
Try it for a few months to see if it works.
It doesn't work for about half who try it, but when it works it works very well.
Thank you
You should feel fortunate to be offered trials. We have been struggling to get my husband into trials for years now.
Your assumption is correct. You should not post the name of the place you work for:

I did a clinical trial before my second run at chemo - at some point in this journey I think it is valuable for all men dealing with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer to consider a clinical trial. It’s the only way to grow the science and help find a cure. The trial I did didn’t work well for me but I’m proud to have helped facilitate the science. It’s certainly an individual decision that depends on many considerations. My 2c
