I started second series.of docetaxel after Talapro2 trial began failing (Xtandi with talazoparib or placebo). Chemo round 1 brought psa from 20 to 9. Round 2, 9 to 4. Round 4 to 8. We did scan just before chemo and again last week. Progression is seen with new bone Mets.
So yesterday was round 4 docetaxel. MO said to do as it is helping a little. However we drew a liquid sample to send to Gardiant to check on mutations.
Our discussion is think new chemo regime with cabazitaxe with a platinum added. We will see what the DNA results brings.
Otherwise I feel good and doing what I do without pain.

It sounds like you've got a good plan based on what's happening with your cancer and you are not wasting any time adjusting your treatments. Jevtana with Carboplatin sounds like a good choice to me from what you are saying.
You also might have also a targeted treatment available based on whatever mutations they find.
You are very fortunate not to have the debilitating side effects of chemo that most of us have had. Good for you! Hope as it finishes you will get better results
Oh, I get the side effects but have been working my way through them. The biggest issues are fatigue and taste. Those are hardest to control. The diarrhea, acid reflex, numbness in toes and fingers, loss of hair, mouth sores and overall malaise I have been able to find some relief. Most by recommendation from folks on this site. When I see what other go through I wish I could help them. But honestly I feel its my positive attitude and acceptance of whats happening that really gets me through the tough patches. And I have a wonderful support system. I think that is key.
Acceptance is the main ingredient of this beast of a disease. I’ve been through the mill on treatments. Currently on a clinical trial. I will never do chemo again. Once is enough for me. Even if it’s a last resort. Good luck brother
Great attitude. The chemotherapy for PCa does not have side effects that debilitating for most. I did lots of things I enjoyed during chemo and would do chemo again if it could help me.
My brother who has suffered from advanced PC at an extremely young age (<35!) was first given 6 docetaxel chemo rounds, then underwent the radical prostatectomy surgery (privately at his own initiative) and after about a year from the diagnosis has been in the 3rd phase of the Talapro 2 trial - so far successfully for about half a year).
It lasted me 8 months. My MO feels i was getting placebo instead of the parib. But what we did discover is the enzulutimide had a good run. That is one option we have to maybe rechallenge once we do different chemo only to have a parib added.
