PSA and having a prostate
I do not understand the question. If you have a prostate you will of cause have a PSA value.
Yes. My PSA has always been at 0.1 since I was cured.
I too do not understand. No cancer found or ID’d? Could you give more details on 1st section of question pls.
My PSA is now >0.1 and I have a prostate. Treated cancer with four trips to University of Heidelberg. If I did not have a prostate would the PSA then be undetectable. What I am wondering is how much of the cancer may be in the prostate and should I treat it now since it is where it stated. Just to destroy the possible of it returning.
I to have original almost 69 yr old prostate gland intact. My 1st defence attack was 42 IMRT rad zaps, that was Oct-Dec 2005. That treatment got most of my malignant prostate cancer cells, most. Yes my prostate atrophied they say. Saying that gland become harder but still produced PSA fluids.
IMRT remission results lasted about
3 yrs. Then 1st round of ADT w/only Lupron and bicalutamide from June 2008 -2013. I then went off ADT.
Yes still had prostate gland and PSA’s started elevating again in 2016, 2017, 2018. But i was going thru a Sudden Cardiac Arrest May 2011, then lots of AFIB/ cardiac issues 2011-2018 and now.
I had a 68GA-PSMA-11 PET Scan 08/2019. That found spread of my prostate cancer in my Atrophied gland, pelvic lymph and abdominal lymph nodes. ***
Question? Is my Prostate gland still generating PSA fluids? To some extent i believe, even with my Abiraterone only 250mg daily, Prednisone and LupronEligard 90 day injs.
TA may have more light to shed on this hot subject. His PSA is 0.1.
Oh i just got back my last weeks personal PSA Labs results still holding @ 0.50ng/mL. Not low enough yet. But staying low.
PSA by itself is not the indication of cancer. It is the antigen generated by prostate cells within the prostate capsule or from prostate cells that has mutated then circulating or lodged in the body elsewhere. So having had the radiation (I assume ultra hypo-fraction/high energy radiation since you only had 4 sessions) and your PSA is 0.1, you are technically in remission for whatever long only the Lord knows. If indeed you have zapped all the cancerous cells within the capsule, then you “maybe cured’”. Only time will tell. For most of us, our “escaped tumor cells but yet undetected by technology/scans”, will eventually grow and then detectable my bone/MRI/CT scan, or the newer Ga68 MRI scan.
Thanks for your input. As you say time will tell. Perhaps then something new is available.
