PSA Test and sex

I remember reading on here and other places that you should refrain from having sex for a certain period before you take a PSA test. I searched the term above but nothing came up. Can anyone help me with this as I have a PSA test scheduled for tomorrow morning so would be over 48 hrs but under 72 hrs. Also, if I dont have a prostate at all does this still matter? Thanks for any help. Hate to get a false high number as that will freak me out.

It doesn't apply to you - only if you have a prostate.

Let understand any effect on PSA is miniscule. The difference in the PSA is likely to be in the hundredths of a percent, or perhaps as much tenth of a percent.

I remember one such test of cyclists riding long distances at a hard effort. They made sure to take the blood within two hours of completed cycling. Because after two hours the slight difference began waining.

If you are on ADT, you don't need to refrain from having sex, lol, it just doesn't happen!

A couple years ago I waited the obligatory 3-days after sex and my PSA went up about 2.0 points and it freaked the oncologist and I out. Retested after a 10-day abstinence and it was back down to normal 0.85 and it's been fine ever since. Whew, won't make that mistake again...
