I'm BRCA2. Anyone know the differences between Niraparib and Olaparib? I have opportunity to enter into a blind clinical trial with Niraparib (50% chance of getting it). But I think that Olaparib will soon be approved for use for PCA in Canada. So, if possible, I would prefer to have 100% certainty of being on a PARP rather than 50% chance. Thanks.

Difference between Niraparib and Olaparib
"A 2012 study in a cell line found that PARP inhibitors exhibit cytotoxic effects not based solely on their enzymatic inhibition of PARP, but by their trapping of PARP on damaged DNA, and the strength of this trapping activity was ordered niraparib >> olaparib >> veliparib."

If you're randomized to no PARP inhibitor, can you have docetaxel+carboplatin instead?
The problem is it’s a blind study and my doctor and I won’t know if I’m getting Niraparib or placebo. Note that I will still be getting Zytiga in either case.
Also BRCA2+. My Oncologist was able to get me "off label use" for Olaparib outside of any trial. Started it in Feb 2019, way before FDA approval, and kept PSA undetectable for 18 mos. Past few months has risen to 0.68. Next steps to be discussed soon after 1.0.
