Progress with chemo

Hello again - I've finished three of the planned six docetaxel treatments at the Oncology Center here in Nicosia, Cyprus, where I live. The fourth is scheduled for Feb 21. After the first two treatments, my PSA fell from 58 to 20. I'm awaiting results of the next blood test, which I'll receive before my treatment next week. So far side effects have been very manageable: a minor bout of diarrhea early on, some itching, which has since stopped, some hair loss. Looking ahead to what I expect will be a successful end to the chemo, my question is: where do we go from here? One option may be to start Erleada. Since I've previously been at Heidelberg University Hospital for a PET scan and know about their experience with Lutetium, this is also in the back of my mind. I welcome any ideas.

Listen to your doctor. I've been on Earleada and Lupron since April 2020; most notable side effect is fatigue.

I don't know what is next for you. I'm surprised you weren't already taking Earlead or something like it but that's up to your doctor.

Glad to hear about your side effects. They're not talking to me about chemo yet; next PSA test is March so we'll see.

Thanks. I was on Zytiga for about a year, until March 2021. It didn't work very well. PSA at start was 14, after a month on Zytiga it dropped to 8, but then edged up again and never went below 8. Erleada has been proposed and I may go on to that when chemo is finished. I'm also on Zoladex shots every three months.

I'm very happy to hear your docetaxel symptoms are mild. That's encouraging.
