PSA rise from 30 to 130 initial 3 months on Zytiga after Docetaxel

Thanks everyone for all your posts.

See my profile for my treatment history.

My next oncology appointment is in a couple of days. I felt sad when told by GP that my PSA had doubled twice in 3 months. This is my initial 3 months on Zytiga ( Abiraterone Acetate) post chemo (Docetaxel). Oncologist advised previously that if Zytiga fails next treatment will be chemo. Not sure if that will be docetaxel or cabazitaxel or something else. I am public health patient in Australia. I doubt I have the strength to travel 400km for a trial in my nearest capital city. Ten round trips would be 8000 km if on Cabazitaxel arm.

Feel free to comment, make bad jokes, ask questions or give thumbs up.

Enjoying the sharing and community here.

Cabazitaxel should be available to you on the PBS without having to be in a clinical trial. How about getting a second opinion from Peter Macallum Cancer Cetre in Melbourne? They can do second opinion appointments by video link so you don’t have to travel there. Nevertheless a Lu-177 trial could be a game changer for you. Do you know if you have a BRCA mutation? A PARP inhibitor could be beneficial. Just some ideas. Best of luck.

Caba worked for me for a while when Doce quickly failed..Also, see if LU-177 is available, trial or otherwise..Best of luck to you..

Thank you Fairwind, local treatment option best available at present is Caba. I may get to try the Lu later. Either Brisbane or Sydney or Melbourne.

I would consider treatment with Lu 17 PSMA which is available in Australia. Best of luck.

Thanks tango65, the Lu177 is a luxury at present. Will see if it becomes a necessity. Good idea definately.
