RP + ADT+ IMRT Report

Jan 4th RP; March 1st Firmagon Shot and each month thereafter; 2 more weeks (of 8) of IMRT/ PSA <0.05. Doc says that is good. I am tired and have had some minor colon irritation but I am working 8 hour days. Libido gone but GF doesn't seem to care?

I have zytiga and Prednisone on hand and was prescribed it at a LA consult with Prostate Oncology Specialists ( Scholz, Lam, and Turner) but Dallas surgeon and oncologist say that I will not get a real boost from it and it is not without side effects and risks."

It's anyone's guess whether Zytiga improves the effectiveness of salvage radiation. There are clinical trials in the works.

I understand. Seems every doc has a different experience and/or believes his/her own magic. Working for the Dallas Cowboys now and Firmagon/IMRT kicks my ass in the afternoon. Caffeine, naps and exercise is helping... I think. LOL

We’ve discussed this my friend. TA is right that it’s anyones guess if Zytega will help. But my guess, and logic dictates that early use of Zytega will improve your outcome and probably not worsen your symptoms much. At the end of the day your call.

Hit it hard and early. With a little luck it will stay down for a while.

Zytiga is basically a form of androgen deprivation therapy.

Adt has a history of being a helpful adjuvant to radiation therapy.

Now is the time to put the cancer on it's back. Half measures just help it mutate.

So yeah, there may be no specific study on this specific situation, I would go with Sholz's intuition.
