Talk to your urologist about a TURP (Holep or surgical)

Thank you for your advice

I second that advice. The fact that your Uro hasn't already recommended it makes me wonder about him (or her).

Thank you I'm in Fl. and seeking a second opinion at Turk Oncology in St Augustine they said don't worry about the the 3 bone mets they can radiate them, that the prostate has to treated due to the swelling from the reacurrent cancer. my oncologist in Illinois told us nothing could be done, this is what you get who do you believe. I do believe in you. Thanks

You may also wish to consider Rezūm therapy to reduce the prostate:

I have no idea which kind of prostate reduction is best for your situation. i can only advise that you discuss them with urologists who have experience with these prostate-reduction therapies. I notice that one of the authors is: Marc C. Gittelman ̶ South Florida Medical Research, Aventura, FL; I think you can get HoLEP or TURP at Mayo or UF in Jacksonville or at U of Miami

I would recommend salvage surgery of the prostate. However, only very few surgeons will agree to make this difficult operation.

thank you very mch

Cryro would be a waste in my opinion as it doesn’t do anything about systemic disease.

The uro/oncologist said the cancer in the prostate is making the Zytiga work twice as hard. He said if we do seeds or cryo it wiil kill the cancer. Thank you for your input

in reply toRacer26

I agree. I assumed that the prostate was already fried, killing the cancer within....... geez, that speaks really well for protons as a primary treatment.

41 days of treatment driving 120 miles a day if I only knew !! Now it's back prostate swelled were I have to cath Zytiga for 3 months psa was 4.4 then down to 0.86 and within the last month back up to 2.17 did Zytiga stop working??

No experience with it but Cryo seems a very crude and unfocused treatment option. The opposite of Cryo (cold) would be HIFU (heat). You might look into that but you would definitely need TURP prior to it.
