I've taken my third shot. No side effects. My PSA was 300 when I started and is now 490. Not to worry says my doctor. Wait until after the 6th...

No pains, so why worry.... :)

My husbands experience with Xofigo was not good unfortunately. The first month, pain got worse, second month still worse, they said it was normal. Third month pain got better, fourth, fifth got so bad he couldn't stand it and asked to stop the last injection. They told him no, he needed to complete the treatment. Unfortunately, two months later he was paralyzed with spinal cord compression. The additional problem he has had from Xofigo is that now his blood counts have remained very low and we are battling that. Prior to the radium, they were all in the normal range.

I took the course of six treatments. The pain was lessened. The science behind it is very good.

I read the other posts. Biological science is variable. Such a thing as biochemical individuality. By blood values have mostly been low requiring transfusions. I saw no correlation with the radium.

I took the full course of Xofigo almost two years ago. I had no side effects, my pain was reduced and stopped the cancers progress for over a year.

Motosu. The cancer never went away it stalled the growth and lessened my bone mets pain for about a year. I have never heard of anyone ever being cancer free that had stage 4 PC that had spread. You can live a long time with cancer that spread. The thing is don't give up. Keep up the fight with the help of a good Oncologist on your side and know your not alone. People on HealthUnlocked are on your side and we are going through this together.

Wow I thought Xofigo was another miracle drug for us to look forward to. I guess not. I am really disappointed. Take care.

I don't believe there are any miracle drugs for us. Reading through the posts you find out each drug has its + and - with each person. All we can hope is that we find a drug that works for us that we can use for a while before our cancer finds a way around it. You oncologist will watch each drug prescription closely to evaluate it.

I had a complete six-month course of Xofigo.  My PSA continue to slowly rise and the shots themselves were fine.  The best part was that it did reduce the pain I was having.
