Poor Experience with Unconventional Organisation

Hello everyone! I am an adult with ADHD. Previously I have benefited somewhat from coaching services, although each session is a bit of a hit or miss. Some sessions are awesome and progressive, others felt like a bit of a waste, however was grateful for the effort.

I used Unconventional Organisation's ADHD coaching services for their focus on research backed tools. However, after offering some feedback (as politely as I could, although yes I will admit I was a little frustrated) on their services they decided that I am not happy enough with them and refused me future services!! I have never been refused services and it made me feel horrible, othered, and rejected. It also did not make sense, why would they even offer have coaching services if they are afraid of getting feedback. Isn't the whole point to help out your client by creating an approach to that works for them? I thought the point of the coaching service was to be open and honest to help improve the relationship with the client and the service itself.

I am writing this post to suggest not looking to Unconventional Organisation for services. They are unwilling to work with their clients, literally because they refused me, and I feel are unwelcoming and discriminatory. I believe this organization has very poor business ethics and are not inclusive or supportive.

Welcome to the forum dune24 !

I haven't heard of Unconventional Organisation.

In my experience, one reason why a service provider might respond like they did is that they became reactive after previous critical feedback. Another reason I've seen people react that way is when ego gets in the way of receiving feedback.

Since I don't know that organization, I have no idea what the reason for their response would be.

Thanks for sharing about your experience here.

The only ADHD coaching I've done was the ADHD reWired Coaching and Accountability program. Overall, I think it was a good program. I wasn't in the best frame of mind at the time, so I didn't get as much out of it as I could have.

(I later realized that I was descending into a depression at the time. The coaching program probably slowed my fall.)

• It was more expensive than I can normally afford. (The only way that I could afford it was because I had cashed out a retirement plan to have money for a cross-country move).

I've heard mixed reviews about an ADHD treatment service called "Done"...some positive, but more negative.
