I'm a 47 year old mum from Scotlad. I have a 16 year old son(ADD/ASD). He's gifted and amazing! I have struggled most of my life with anxiety and, well, just feeling different from other people. Moving from job to job, relationship to relationship, university to university(finally got an honours degree at 36. I have a career now I love but was still struggling until eventually last year I was diagnosed with ADHD, what a revelation! So many questions answered. Just starting my journey through titration with meds(currently 54mg concerta XL) too high I feel. Just happy to know I'm not alone and not losing my mind 😊 well not totally.

Welcome and I am glad to see you are doing well! Late diagnosed here, but for sure the biggest thing is finding others like you and actually finding you aren't that weird!

Thank you and hi 😊 definitely the biggest thing is finding you're not alone and yes not totally weird haha. I always did wonder what was wrong with me so now it makes sense.

Welcome! I'm only a couple of years into my late diagnosis. I'm 48 and definitely think finding other late diagnosis types is going to be important. I'm in America and can't seem to find anyone local to me but at least I've found this site. I definitely recognize the relief of having some kind of answer, even a complicated one.

Thank you 😊 how did we manage to stumble through life so far haha. But we made it through I guess. I have found out 3 of my colleagues have been recently diagnosed too so I chat with them when I can, it is easier when you have someone to chat to who knows exactly what you mean when you're explaining a symptom. Some people just CANNOT understand it when I say to them it can take me 2 hours to go in the shower....they say just do it πŸ˜‚ if it was that easy I would obviously! I have found this group and it's good to know things like this are available for support, advice and just a wee chat if we're feeling overwhelmed or about anything really. My door(phone screen) is always open ❀️

Nice to 'meet' you. I'm late diagnosed, and recently diagnosed and am 55. understand the anxiety part and the change jobs frequently part even though I got a degree 'on schedule' in my much younger days. I feel the changes in menopause really magnified my symptoms to the point I couldn't 'ignore' them anymore. I'd love to create a support/chat group for women over 45. I feel like we may have specific issues that others may not care to focus on.

Nice to Internet meet you too! My anxiety quite bad at the moment unfortunately. I'm hoping the HRT and titrate back down or new meds can maybe help me more. Trial and error I guess. I was exactly the same as you, I'd known for about a year I was more than likely peri but didn't want to admit defeat to my youth, wish I had and started HRT a year ago. If you create something or would like to start somerhing I'd be happy to help 😊 i think it's a great idea
