So today I had my first assessment and it took an hour and a half . I was very nervous but felt myself rambling on and got quite emotional going over all the questions . The lady was lovely and she has now referred me onto another lady who goes more into depth so still no official diagnosis but she did say wouldn’t refer me on if didn’t think high chance I do have ADHD ? Feel a bit of relief but not quite there yet ? Anyone else had the same ? 😊

First Assessment today done !
Be patient with the process. Some diagnosticians take a lot longer of a process than others.
I got my original ADHD diagnosis from a licensed mental health counselor who was primarily treating me for anxiety and secondarily assessing me (at my request) for ADHD. Her assessment of me took 6 out of our 8 sessions.
My doctor at the time had me take a computerized assessment, which took me about 20 minutes to complete and took him less than 5 minutes to score, before he concurred that I have ADHD. (He also had access to her notes, by my permission, but I don't know if he read them or not.)
It’s definitely not an easy or quick progress is it but we went this long ! I’ll stay positive and hope i do get a diagnosis after it all 😊. I’m going to see a psychiatrist who deals more with mental illness and ADHD . Trust got to try and chill a bit now until then !
If I recall my assessments, I had that then I had 6-8 house of assessments (mostly questions). They were sure I was adhd but on the fence for asd. Definitely ptsd and anxiety too.
Sounds like your diagnosis is in progress. Congrats.
thank you and I do hope so I know it’s a way to go yet ?! May I ask do you have ADHD ?
My 1st completed assignment took about the same amount of time. They gave me a copy of my results before I left and made an appointment with 1 of the Dr on the way out. The pieces of the puzzle will fall into place.
Good morning ,
I never got any copy of results have you had your second appointment yet ? My next one is at a psychiatric hospital with a psychiatrist that specialises in ADHD . Could be a while ? But I’m the right track 😊
