Times up

Over ten years we've tried to make a life for ourselves. Over ten years of struggling, putting up with the bull shit. There is nothing left for us in Arkansas. Have to abandon everything to flee from the persecution.

Can't find a job, can't keep my kids feed or happy. Why is it that no one believes me? Where is the rule of law we were promised? When is this equality experiment supposed to start? Over 40 years of trying to believe, over 40 years of being lied to.

Nothing left... no fate... no future

Dear ChaosDad:

It's obvious you are in a great deal of emotional pain right now, whether from ADHD symptoms, the workplace situation you've described earlier, and struggles to support your family.

It might be good to check in with your doctor and share what you expressed here. If you are not seeing an ADHD specialist, here are some resources to find one near you:

chadd.org/professional-dire...

chadd.org/organization-dire...

psychologytoday.com/us

If you find your feelings to be overwhelming before you can get into see an ADHD specialist you can call the Lifeline at 988.

samhsa.gov/mental-health/988

They can help you at anytime of the day or night and they want to talk with you.

It's hard right now, but things can and will get better.

Best wishes during a difficult time,

Jami

Thank you for the sound advice.

I used to have someone to talk to, but after losing everything we can't afford food let alone mental healthcare. I'm trying to just forget the struggles we went through over the last ten years. Trying to overcome the feeling of betrayal after learning that ADA law isn't enforced, and that equality is a suggestion not a right.

Dear chaos dad, it sounds like you have been dealt some serious blows. I was diagnosed in my 40s and know that the struggle is real. try to stay positive and use the resources available to you. you’re not alone.

Thank you SchwarzerEngel. What blows my mind is the lack of outrage. It's like if someone in a wheel chair was kept from a promotion because they couldn't reach the top shelf, then being forced to train their 18 year old replacement. Begging HR to intervene only to read in an email the HR only represents your manager. The hypocrisy is so thick it deserves its own zip code, and the system in place to prevent things like this is the real scam.

Not what you're looking for?
