Best ways to drain ADHD meds from your system?

I have no idea why, but my adhd meds have worked longer than they ever have today. I’m on 30mg Vyanse/Elvanse, and they normally don’t last the day for me. But today the peak alone has lasted for about 5 hours which is great if I needed it. I would normally have crashed or atleast worn well down from the peak by now - Anyone have any tips on how to help ‘turn them off’? Would be good to know in future. I don’t know what I’ve done differently today but they’ve worked amazing. No high, just great deal of focus I’ve felt for prolonged period! Just wont be able to sleep soon when I need to I think

Wow, I have never seen this question raised on the site. There are other things that can give you extra energy other than the stimulant. Coffee for example ... Interesting: these days I don't "notice" the medication and when it's at peak and so on.

You might try exercising. Meditating. You're not going to get rid of the med, but you can calm your system the natural way and see what happens.

orange juice, anything with vitamin c, I have felt to intense before and had a berrocca and whether it was placebo affect or not it worked - I know this is a bit late so I hope you found a way to calm it down

Interesting point. I do remember from when I was on Adderall XR the warning that citric acid interferes with absorption of the medication.

I thought that the warning mainly applied to the first couple of hours after taking amphetamine stimulants. However, with extended release forms of stimulants, it makes sense that citric acid could have an impact even several hours later.

The difference with Vyvanse/Elvanse is that it has to be ingested to be converted into usable form (to help prevent intentional misuse/abuse).

I haven’t found a way to do that but I find the same response myself. I do take it as early as possible in my day and drink no caffeine.
