I've always had little fidgeting problems or the need to move a lot. I've also grown more tiresome with talking to people because sometimes I feel the need to finish what they're saying for them because they're not finishing their sentences fast enough. I've always had the "lesser symptoms" of ADHD and thought I was just impatient or a little messed up in the head but I never thought that there would be some kind of explanation that would include all of those little problems(t he need to just release a TON of energy, forgetting misplaced items frequently, not being able to concentrate on smaller lesser tasks, etc.).
I've been looking for people to help diagnose my problems (as ADHD or maybe something else idk) but I feel silly going in and asking for them to "check if I have ADHD" because I feel self-diagnosis is usually laughed at with many mental illnesses. So, just going in and asking if I have ADHD makes me a little nervous. Im around the Abington, PA area without a car if anyone could help me find some place to go for this. I'm a little lost and it would be great if I could get some kind of help and suggestions to help reduce these nervous and hyperactive antics. Makes life hard sometimes in schooling and work.

Sounds like you're recognizing some of your traits as ADHD. Go to your general practitioner doctor and ask for a referral for an Adhd diagnosis. No reason to feel silly, this is a good place to start. Once you get diagnosed, you'll be able to get medication and see a coach or therapist.
Also, if you want to look up a psychiatrist on your own the magazine Psychology lists different providers that you can contact. They also can be sorted by specialties.
Right now I am reading a great book called - Taking Charge of Adult ADHD by Russell A. Barkley, PhD. It's very useful and has actual solutions.
Other places/websites to check are;
ADDitude Magazine
ADD.ORG
Hope these ideas help you out! Best wishes on this awesome journey of life.
Put a circular band on you finger and twist it around. They can be a great figit that looks natural. Maybe one with the same pattern all around that way it doesn’t look like you turning something around and around.

Ok, u are doing the right thing by acknowledging you have n issue. That being said,if u have ins u need to do as I did,I told my doctor that I knew what was wrong but needed to confirm it. He set me up w a behavioral therapist that would listen to my concerns n issues for an undetermined amount of visits then at a certain point they give u a questionnaire with specific questions to gauge the level and legitimacy or your suspected issue. Good luck jim
