A new life coach needed ..

Hi All ,

I’m trying to look for a New life coach that will be familiar with Adult Adhd .. Having had coaching in the past , which was hugely helpful to start but the benefits lessened over time because I wasn’t acting on all the good advice being given .

Being faced with starting out with a new therapist / Coach I’m finding a little daunting , starting all over again and not knowing whether I’m going to actually take onboard what they are saying , or more importantly finding the drive to implement any changes .

Has anyone experience of what resources I should look at to choose a coach ?

I’m based in the UK but I’m open to virtual coaching .. Do people feel that a virtual coach can work as well as in person ?

Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated .

Hi kjc6, I’ve used life coaches in the past to varying degrees. I’m part of the “London ADHD & associated conditions” meet up (go to the Meet up app) group. Usually they’d join you to the main what’s app group once you’ve gone to an in person meeting. If you can join, there’s a wealth of information and several coaches are part of the group that you could reach out to. Right now one coach has done a five week mindfulness course for adult ADHD next week is week four. It’s been really helpful and soothing. Good luck and I’ll be interested in other replies here.

Hi kjc6, I'm a coach myself, mostly for work-related issues, but also personal ones (no ADHD specialty, although I have it). I recommend you look on the International Coach Federation web site. They have a directory for people looking for coaches that takes into consideration both subject matter and location. I suspect there's something similar for ADHD-specific coaches on one of their association web sites, but I'm not personally familiar with those. I work exclusively on virtual platforms, and it works perfectly well. So if you see a coach that looks like a good fit, don't rule them out if they're far away. And any good coach will expect that you want to interview or have a consultation with them to help you make a decision. So consider a few! Good luck, and let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, I'm also looking for someone that can help me understand better a person with adhd. I have a sister with it and when I was younger I didn't know how to deal with her and now I regret so much for not looking for more information about the adhd before so I could be a better sister to her. Now she is an adult and so am I. And I believe we need a coach that knows more about adhd's adult.

I’m an ADHD coach myself and work remotely with all my clients. It definitely can be done.

As far as finding an ADHD coach, there are a few resources out there. I discuss them in this blog post: resetadhd.com/blog/how-to-f...

Hi there.

A good Adhd coach will create a safe space for you, and a session with them shouldn’t feel intimidating or anxious. In addition to training and experience you’ll want to look for that comfort so you can partner with your coach. So it could be important for you to ask to meet your prospective coach first, to evaluate that. Don’t be daunted to try a couple out first, because when you get the right one it will feel natural.

Like resetahdh, I am also an ADHD coach, and I have ADHD as well so I know what it’s like. If you’d like to set up a free session/conversation please message me and we can chat.

hi, I understand you very well . Starting out with a new coach is a difficult process, to open up to him, although just a week later everything will be fine. You should feel safe and secure during your meetings. Before I found the life coach certification program that suits me best,I took a few days to understand what life coaching is (and what life coaching is not), understand the programs, and most of all, gain a deeper understanding of what I want out of this career. If you are open to virtual coaching try online life coach certification( robkish.life/affordable-lif.... Specialists helped me find the right solution to my problem and return to normal life.
