I have been taking stimulants for my ADD since I was in elementary school. I have a high tolerance to them, and they work well for me. I was taking 30mg Adderall twice a day, which left me w/out medication for a big chunk of the day, when I still had symptoms. When I heard about Mydayis, I was skeptical yet excited because I have tried extended release in the past, and it didn't work for me, however my doctor explained how Mydayis is different. I am now taking 50mg Mydayis and 10mg Adderall in the afternoons when the Mydayis fades out. I need a stronger dose of Adderall in the afternoons, it least 20mg, but my psychiatrist refuses to because he said he would be concerned about the toxicity levels w/ that amount of amphetamines. The 10mg is barely helping though, and I am healthy w/ no side effects ever from stimulants. By the time I even take the Adderall, my Mydayis has already been in my system for over 8 hours, so there shouldn't be any huge risk for me. He suggested using an amphetamine patch if this doesn't work...which I have no idea if that is a better option or not...plus the Mydasis is working well for me, so I don't want to go backwards. I haven't asked him about taking 3 doses of Adderall 30mg a day, which will definitely work for me, and I did research that confirms others have done well w/ 3 times a day as well...so, I am determined to find my solution, since I have suffered from ADD my entire life, and am past the point of frustration w/ feeling like there is better options out there, however being reluctant to bring them up in the past because of the stigma w/ ADD and medication. What do I need to tell my psychiatrist so he will be comfortable prescribing me either a higher dose or more doses? I know he is trying to cover his own self and mentioned how pharmacies can look at stimulants being prescribed at higher doses or more doses...however, even if they do, it's perfectly appropriate for my ADD and a lot of them are not aware of the new studies that confirm and support the fact that each person w/ ADD responds differently to stimulants, and a good amount of people w/ ADD require a higher dose or multiple doses to cover them up to 16 hours.

Hi B19B, sorry that I don't have any advice for you since your knowledge about that area is beyond mine. Question: Do you absolutely feel that medication is the best solution here or could other treatments be effective? Don't give up on finding a solution because there's one for you.

Is mydasis a stimulant medication? My doctor gives me 30mg extended release and 30mg short acting in the morning and in the afternoon I take one 30mg short acting. That means I should have about 60mg for an 8hr period in my system. I never heard of mydasis can you share with me a little information about it and your experience taking it?
