Is there a medication that ACTUALLY lasts as long as it advertises??? I do well w/ stimulants, however, each one I've tried poops out on me WAY before the medication claims it will last!!! I currently take Mydayis 50mg and Adderall 30mg in the afternoon as a booster, however, I need help in the mornings before the Mydayis starts working. Please, if anyone knows of anything that might help, I will GREATLY appreciate it!!!

Hey I had a similar issue! I take Adderall 30mg and Adderall XR 30mg. One thing my doctor and I found was taking my XR in the morning with half of the regular Adderall helped it kick in faster while the XR covered most of my day and then the other half of the regular I take in the afternoon as a booster. I don’t know if this would work for you, but it’s worth asking about!

Thank you for your response!!! Unfortunately, the extended release Adderall didn't work for me.

The extended release may not work, but I meant asking your doctor about taking half of your Adderall in the morning with your Mydayis to see if it helps to make it work faster!

I need the full 30mg Adderall in the afternoons. 15mg doesn't touch my symptoms. I asked my doctor if we could add another dose of 30mg Adderall in the morning, and she said my insurance would probably not approve that...however, I know people that have been successful doing that, so I'm extremely frustrated...my doctor suggested a new medication, called , Jornae I think...I'm researching the newest ADHD medications for 2019 now. I pray that there are better options!!!

If you are in the US and your insurance doesn’t cover extra doses, an app called GoodRx has prescription coupons to reduce the cost to more reasonable prices! I hope they find a combo that works for you!

I have Medicaid and Medicare, and they usually cover all my medications. I think my doctor might be trying to push the new medication bc of the pharmaceutical companies...not sure. She seemed apprehensive about adding another dose. Thank you for your support!!!

Only because I work in healthcare, I will say she is probably concerned with hypertrophy of the heart (overworked heart gets too big) and high blood pressure that can occur with high Adderall doses long term and is trying to find something that works better. However, if you are handling your current doses well and see her regularly it’s not as big of an issue, so I hope she works with you on finding the right combo! Keep us up to date on what you find if you do end up trying something new!

I have never had any health issues like that due to Adderall, thank GOD!!! I took a saliva test to see which medications work well w/ my metabolism, and in the stimulant category, the results said I might require higher doses due to how my enzymes break it down. I'm overweight, and that also makes a difference...which I am working to lose this extra weight ( a lot) ASAP bc it is unhealthy, and not good for me in any way!!!

I would like to take the saliva test too. Where did you take your test? Was it an at home kit or something at the doctor’s office? Was this an internal medicine doc or psychiatrist?

Thanks so much!
