Yeah, that doesn't apply to me and my ADHD!

Fail to plan is planning to fail. Oh no! See I can come up with a brilliant plan. Exquisite and with superior detail. I can even start it. And then I start it, and then I either make some changes that throw me off track and I lose focus. Or I forget. I totally forget. Several times I start my diet. My morning starts out good. Afternoon too and then around 4pm I find myself spitting out French fries and scolding myself beacause I friggin forgot I was dieting. Smack my forehead, wth. And over the next several days and several instances like this and I'm over it! Irritated with my forgetfulness. Ugh!

What do you think you can do to not forget? Post it notes everywhere so you see them are reminded. Like on you fridge and steering wheel?

Yeah, it would have to be everywhere! Maybe a Sharpie on the back if my hand! Its been awhile since I've been on Adderall but I think I remembered things better when I was taking it.

Sure me too. I was embarrassed at first taping notes where I would see them because I was afraid of others seeing it and thinking I was weird but I’m over it and I do what works for me. Try to at least. If diet is important and you want to work on it start small. drive.google.com/file/d/1gH...

maybe you can put reminders in your phone to pop up in the afternoon. Or try some type of diet app...I'm sure there are tons out there. Might be worth looking into. Or maybe can you have a friend or family member text you at about 3 pm something like 'hey how is your diet coming along today?'

That is a good idea. I'm going to try the alarm. To remind me that I'm on a diet. Which would be odd for some people, but not me and my ADHD. Lol. Unfortunately dieting is only one of many things I have issues with forgetting. I really need Adderall but haven't been on it for awhile. Hoping to go back on it soon.

If you can stay on track until 4pm you're doing better than me! Without my medication I'm like that constantly. Why haven't you been taking your adderall?

Had a bad doc. The group I went through required everyone to start getting prescriptions through the behavioral health rather than the GP I had been seeing for the last year. When they did that, the Psychiatrist or Psychologist, whatever she is was terrible. I ended up waiting a year to go back and ask for someone else because there werent many to choose from unless I wanted to drive an hour away. Love my new doc. She like every doc I have seen says well maybe your not ADHD and the figures out I am. They dont trust other docs diagnosis anymore and act like everyone is out to abuse Adderall. Im just trying to be patient with new doc. I'm pretty depressed after the last year falling apart so she is trying to work through some of the depression with some depression meds and then add Adderall. I cannot wait.

That is life. No one is perfect. A football team does not win because they dwell upon in the Fourth Quarter what went wrong in the other three. Do not feel badly if you try for two weeks to do something and quit due to stress and other stuff. Obstacles happen. People quit and get frustrated. The next day we get up. Even Charlie Brown said "Wait until next year". Charlie Brown is an optimist. He never gave up and always believed in the future. Try, try, try again. Dwelling upon failing to stick with a plan will only.....get you stuck.

Omg I get it. Not only do I have the ADHD forgetfulness but I am 57 and am just getting to the forgetful age. I have an Alexa. Everytime I think of something I tell her to put it on a list for example I'm headed for the store next week every time I throw an empty bottle away I just tell her to put it on a grocery list I never forget anything anymore. She even has a thing where you can say remember I put my wedding ring in the window sill and later you can ask her where did I put my wedding ring and she'll tell me it's in the window sill. I can tell her to remind me three times a day don't forget your on a diet. And just hearing that reminds me to keep an eye on it. Sometimes I'm half awake and take my meds then I wake up really good and forget if I took it or not. Again she's right next to my bed. When I put the pill in my mouth half awake I simply tell her remember I took my pill at 7 a.m. . Then at 9 when I actually wake up and I can't remember if I took it or not I simply asked her do you remember if I took my pill and she'll tell me you took it at 7 a.m. . Anyway that's my answer to forgetfulness and no matter where I am in the house as soon as I think of something I just tell her and then I don't have to remember to write it down or anything else. All the things you tell her and the lists you make go straight to your cell phone so no matter where you are you can pull up anything you told her to remember or any list you made for example I just have been making a list of things to remember to do the night before Thanksgiving or I'll forget to put the yeast rolls in the refrigerator to rise. LOL she's my new best friend
