I have been on adhd medicine for many years now. My doctor changed and the new one decided she does not believe in this, So she cut me off. I am a mess. Anyone know where I can go?

Sorry to hear what you are going through. I feel like I’m I an eternal waiting room for my doctor to decide what’s going on with me. Time between appointments is about 5-6 weeks and so far I’ve gotten high blood pressure medication and I don’t have high blood pressure.

Right Drs. concerned about every other sickness in the world but the one I'm trying to get treated. I don't understand why they think it is ok to treat depression/Anxiety, which I don't have, with drugs, but not adhd, which I do.

Yup. I’m being treated for panic attacks with blood pressure medication. They just give me more anxiety.

Good luck to you. I had a similar experience, some doctors/therapists are ignoring valid science and FDA approved medications. Inexcusable as far as I am concerned.

Hi, I live in the Milwaukee area. I have not had any problems with my docs understanding adhd. I would go to my insurance website and search for adhd in the find a doctor section. Also, dr. Halloway (driven to distraction fame) suggested seeing a child psych doc cuz they have more exp with adhd. Or call, Chadd information specialist... ask for a list in your area. They are Very helpful. Hope this helps.

I would say "Do not feel guilty about leaving and finding someone else". The professionals we choose are not like someone actor in a movie. They are not miracle workers. They have their biases and ways of doing things that are not right for every patient.
