ADHD 2.0 five star book
my friend who’s son also has ADHD recommended this book: Young, S & Smith, J (2017). Helping children with ADHD: a CBT guide for practitioners, parents and teachers.
Also ‘Explosive child’
When I was diagnosed, "Driven to Distraction" was a godsend for me and my parents. The author is a psychiatrist who has ADHD himself, and the book is very ADHD friendly to read.
He's also released a book "Delivered from distraction" that I have also found very helpful.
I know you asked for books, but I also have to recommend the YouTube channel "How to ADHD", which has a good mix of evidence based information and a frank and vivid portrayal of the experience from someone with ADHD.
Oh, there's also "the Essential Guide to Raising Complex Kids with ADHD anxiety and More" by Elaine Taylor-Klaus. I can't give a firm recommendation because I haven't gotten far in it yet. The reason I haven't is because near the beginning she talks about some of the struggles faced by ADHD kids, and to paraphrase my favorite author (Terry Pratchett) "It was like getting mugged while walking down memory lane". Because of that it's been hard for me, personally, to go back to, but I don't think that detracts from the value of the book.
Taking Charge of ADHD by Russell Barkley
ADHD 2.0 by Dr Hallowell who also wrote driven to distraction

dirty genes by Dr Ben Lynch and cleanse to heal by medical medium
Taking charge of adhd by Russell Barkley. It goes a lot into the science of ADHD so you may get bored with it. But I think he’s awesome. I like to watch his videos on YouTube. I’ve learned a lot from him.
Taking Charge of ADHD (Russell Barkley) is absolutely excellent. 8 Keys to Parenting Children with ADHD by Cindy Goldrich. Smart but Scattered by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare. The Explosive Child by Ross Greene. On YouTube: ADDitude channel webinars or videos with Russell Barkley, William Dodson, or Thomas Brown; ADHD Dude YouTube channel.. For autism (I know you didn’t ask this but if you have any concerns for it): Bill Nason—-The Autism Discussion Page books (3 volumes) are excellent and explain better than anything I’ve read (and I’ve read a LOT on autism and parenting).
