Playing with toys

Does anyone eleses 12 year old still plays with toys. My 12 year old son just started playing with playmobils again and he plays with Roblox characters. I would rather him play with toys rather than electronics.

No but i wish my 12yrs played with anything other than his Xbox. Kids born in 2000s cant help it. They were born in this world full of continuous upgrading electronic devices. I am not familiar to what he's playing with, but you might have a genious on your hands good luck

I wouldn’t worry. My doctor told me an ADHD boy is really 3 years behind with maturity so your son may be 12 but on a maturity level he’s really 9 which is why these toys may still appeal to him. My son is 13 1/2 and still plays with things I question although his phone and Xbox consume the majority of his time. You may see a switch with your son in the next year to electronics as that’s all a typical teenager wants to play with. Enjoy the electronic break for now and just let him play with whatever makes him happy.

Take it as a blessing! My son would rather play with electronics than anything and it is such a problem to balance it. I am always saying just use your imagination and play! It’s different than when we were kids. So like I said enjoy the fact that he plays on his own

I think that’s perfectly normal and ok. My 14 year old gets old toys out every so often! What could possibly be wrong with that? Toys are GREAT!

My son played with his legos and playmobil occasionally until he was 14. I think it is good and healthy. I did learn, however, that he was embarrassed about it so I learned not to bring it up in front of other people. He is 15 now and still hasn't let me give away any of these toys.

Adults design all toys and games. Legos are a serious business for a lot of adults! Maybe he just has a more active imagination and finds electronics limiting.
