Hello, just wanted to update on my 6 year old boy.

The last time I wrote on here I had explained we had an appointment with his doc yo change his medicine. I discussed with her in detail what he has been doing(she also got to see for herself) on the new medicine. She had put him back on vyvanse and didn't want to put a new one on him until he sees a new behavioral therapist. She agrees he has more then ADHD (the old therapist doesnt) so she sent me to a new one who we will see this Friday. I have been looking and researching medicines and I'm down to 3 but we will have to discuss and see what they think about them. My son is not understanding why he is getting angry all the time and is starting to cry about it. It just breaks my heart to see him like this. He knows his medicine helps him with school and he understands that he has ADHD but doesn't understand why he has anger so much.

Youngest grandson has lots of anger issues. We switched him to Strattera because Vyvanse made them worse. He is also on Seroquel and Risperidone. Pretty stable most of the time now but there are times when he still loses it

I think the medicines still give them some moments but my boy is like this everyday now and it hurts him. I hope we find the right one I hate him feeling bad.

Risperdone and guanfacine have helped take the edge off the anger component. It's not a total fix, and therapy has been an important part of helping my sons learn coping skills, but the medication has helped with the emotional part of ADHD. Good luck!

Thank you! I'm hoping we can just get the right one I hate him feeling bad. I was thinking about focalin with a mood medicine first if not that then strattera
