For all those celebrating the Easter Holidays, have a wonderful break with lots of eggs, some chocolate and sunny weather!
As a book lover who loves to listen to music, podcasts, and audio books on my walks, I’ve been rather pondering about UNESCO World Book Day recently, and what I could do to link my walking with books! Wikipedia tells me: “The first World Book Day was celebrated on 23 April in 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day.”
So! Who would like to join me for a book-themed walk to celebrate UNESCO World Book Day on 23rd April 2025?
Well! Here is our World Book Day Challenge for the days around Wednesday, 23rd April 2025. Conveniently, it just follows the Easter weekend, so if you are on an Easter break, this might fit perfectly.
I have a Spotify playlist ready for those who like walking to music (the free version of Spotify will work). The songs selected are all about books, or reading or stories about books. There are 90 minutes worth of songs. (Link: open.spotify.com/playlist/0... )
And for those who like listening to both music and a bit of talk, I also have put together a show where my hubby and I walk and chat about songs about books. As long as you are in an area with mobile reception, you should only need a web browser to access this one: mixcloud.com/CeeBeeDeeBee/w...
Of course, as part of celebrating World Book Day, you can also choose an audiobook to listen to on your walk.
So join me in celebrating World Book Day with a walk whilst experiencing music about books or listening to an audiobook! Are you up for this challenge?
Let us know how books have inspired your walking!
