Today’s walk felt super sweet after a hard run. Tempo pace which the guided run described as “kind of annoying”. It bugged me for the full twenty five minutes so it was a relief to stop and spot this lovely little bug on my cool down walk. Very apt!
I was running in an unfamiliar place and the type of run didn’t leave any headspace for enjoying the surroundings. Stopping and walking was such a nice contrast-time to take in the scenery. Walking is such a great exercise! Thank you Active10 for being such a great space to celebrate it! 🚶♀️🚶🚶♂️

I love this! Thanks so much-that’s exactly the beetle. I’d never seen one like him before and know I know what he is. Hopefully I’ll spot some more now!
I’m glad you posted it.. I don’t recall seeing one like it before either. The info I read says it’s common in the UK, found on hawthorn and umbellifers, and most common in Leicestershire and Rutland, but not further north.. so maybe not here in North Yorkshire
He was a smart little chap. Very keen to show off his colours!
It was a really nice walk. Just long enough to cool down and enjoy being outdoors. Lots of pretty things to spot that I’d totally missed on the run before!
Thank you! I was really lucky to spot such a cooperative subject. I was in a great mood all through the walk. Sometimes it’s just lovely to have one like that!
Thank you so much! Sorry, your reply got lost and I’ve just spotted it!
The great thing about tough runs is they make the chilled ones feel extra sweet…last night’s gentle pootle was heavenly! It probably helped that I was actually cool for the first time in ages too. Hooray for late evenings!
