#Photowalk Challenge April/May: Common or garden beauty

It was a glorious start to the day with sunshine streaming through the windows. I’ve had the go ahead to start running again after an injury and I was both excited and nervous about it. That went really well with no pain at all-much better than expected! I decided to do an extended cool down walk through the village looking for fancy yellow flowers in the gardens.

There were some really pretty spring tulips, little yellow blossoms and primroses. What really caught my attention were the flowers in the church yard. Just ordinary weeds but absolutely shining in the sun. It made me think about how sometimes we take for granted the normal things that we do or surround us every day. I’ve really missed my runs. I’ve missed going for a walk without worrying about pain at the end. It’ll be wonderful when those things are just normal again.

My photo is a celebration of the normal, unexceptional flowers that we might not even think to appreciate!

I was admiring my daisies that have sprung up and opened since I cut the grass, isn't nature amazing? Your weeds are wild flowers in the churchyard

Absolutely! The bees were loving the dandelions. My guineas like the leaves so it’s a nice free snack for them too!

Lovely . I remember making a daisy chain in my younger days many moons ago.

I remember being envious of my friends who could make daisy chains. Mine always ended up headless when I tried to poke a hole through the stems!!

the trick is picking those with good stems!

What is a weed to some is a flower or culinary treat to others. Dandelion leaves in a salad are great! We welcome them in our lawn as seasonal additions to salads! 😀😀

Beautiful photo!

Weeds are only flowers in the wrong place 😉

Dandelions are actually very important as they flower so early…really essential for our pollinators…especially bees 🐝

Leave the flowers until they finish…then dead head before those dandelion clocks get going!
