My daughter picked me up from work and insisted we went along the seafront, the tide was high, the waves were huge, couldn't see on my phone screen what I was taking but. ... .look how close the sea is to the underneath if the pier, was very blustery out there but the sun shine and we had fun

Good photo of the water, a bit choppy to be out on a small boat I would imagine, wind force 6 to gale 8 for sea area Dover, sea moderate to rough as in your lovely photograph.
A bit choppy at sea. Get seasick looking at it. Blows the cobwebs away.
That looks amazing - I love to see the sea when it’s right up under our pier too!
That's just fabulous...I love the huge waves...from a safe distance though... beautiful!
Blustery waters! Nice!
What a great photo. We had blustery weather here (South west coast) yesterday too, but I enjoyed it from the garden! When it's really windy the sand all blows up along the seafront and it's tricky to walk on, but I do love a blustery day, it's so energising!
I remember being blown against a shop window by the strength of the wind at Worthing pier. And my small son almost being blown away by the gales near the promenade in Troon. Seaside wind is powerful!
Some years back, when we used to be in Sussex, I remember a cargo ship lost its load of wood in a storm off Worthing and all the planks of wood ending up all along Worthing beach! The police were down there, fending off the public who had hoped to collect it!

Yes, I remember the wood on the beach, now you mention it. And there was a huge boat (tanker, maybe?) on the beach at Brighton.
