Just glorious, Al x
Glad you like the photo Oldfloss, it's a lovely morning for a walk, there is even some snow on the top of the hills in the distance, snow level about 1000 feet.
Oh that’s lovely Al!
What a fabulous place to exercise!
Love the mountains in the distance…How far is a circuit of the lake?
Do many people exercise there?
🏔️🏔️🏔️
The hills in the distance with snow are called The Campsie Hills or fells, the highest is just over 1,800 ft, not really mountains, the circuit around the loch is just short of 3 kilometers, about 2 miles, however, a longer walk into the woods increases the distance to almost 5K, after I took that photo I walked through the woods and I am happy to tell you that there is now an improved new path and new drainage so there isn't any more flooding despite the amount of rain there has been this week, because of the improvement I will be running my first 10 K of this year this Wednesday, it will be the first time since last August that I can run on that particular part due now to the new path and improved drainage system, since last August there has been continuous flooding in those woods.
My River Walk is 2 miles…such a handy distance. It’s x3 circuits of the Boating Lake too…so your loch is considerably larger!
Great that you can divert into the woods for a longer distance! Cwmbran Park Run takes in one half of the River Walk, then loops around the Boating Lake and back for the 5k.
It’s so important to have the paths maintained…I bet you can’t wait to run that 10k there on Wednesday!
I am looking forward to running around the renewed flood free path on Wednesday, I havn't walked or ran there since last August although I cycled through all the puddles last September, what caused the flooding was a stream that overflowed over the path, that has now been diverted along the side of the path with new drainage, we have had a lot of rain over the last few days so already that new path with no puddles or flooding has now passed the test✅✅
Great exercise place Al 🙂👍
It is indeed a great exercise place Ian, it's never too busy like some other places like Drumpellier or Strathclyde Park, I like to walk run and cycle around the loch, that's part of the route my Thursday morning walking group goes round and the local 10K event in September takes place there as well.
😍😍😍
Beautiful you are so lucky
It is beautiful, I consider myself to be very lucky to live only a 30 minutes walk from where I live,
