Hi - this is my first post in the forum. I am a 61-year old male struggling to motivate myself to lose weight and get fit. I joined a gym and started the 5:2 regime and have done reasonably well but i still find myself having binging days. I also stopped going to the gym. I do suffer from depression and this doesn't help with my motivation.
I'm looking forward to reading the posts and becoming an active member.
Best regards ....... David

Welcome David. This forum is a great place to check in and support each other. I find sometimes just writing a goal here helps me commit to it. And I get lots of tips and tricks from other people here. Sometimes just reading about another person's walks prompts me to get my backside out the door.
Walking not only helps us to get fit, but I find it really important for my own personal mental health.
Welcome to our little forum. We all have times when getting out the door is pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. The one thing I love about this forum is reading the positive posts about how great people feel once they have got out. That always helps me to make more time. Keep coming back and letting us know how you are getting on.
Hi David - so glad you've found us! Having made the decision to get fitter and healthier means you're halfway there - well done! I've been a member of this forum for 8 months now - and I know what you're battling against because I was there too! I have not only got physically stronger from walking regularly, but every time I get outside in the fresh air and have a good walk, my mood lightens! If you read other member's posts, you will see that walking has more benefits than just physical ones. You are so welcome here - post often - we'll all support and encourage you on your journey!
