I weighed myself yesterday, because it was Monday. I was down 1.8lbs, I know this is a start and it took me 3 weeks to go down that small amount. Every one tells me I will lose inches first before pounds. I am hoping this is true. I have been walking 2-1/2 miles since January 6.

Well done on keeping walking. You have made a great start to the New Year. I am a slow loser and only lose around 2lb a month when I am on a diet. I am in tablets for hypothyroid. But 1.5 years ago I took the time to lose a stone and it slowly came off and has been off ever since so I am a great believer in the slow and steady, coupled with exercise. Your on the right path.
Hi Schele - you've made a good start, well done! I know it's not exactly what you wanted, but stopping smoking, dieting AND walking 2+ miles daily is an absolutely massive achievement! Once your body adjusts to all the changes I'm sure both your fitness level and your weight loss will speed up - stay positive!
