Hi, have not heard of this sort of diagnosis and treatment before. Is complete removal the only option? Is there possibility of gamma knife surgery? Are you suffering any symptoms of facial palsy?
Hi there l was told to surgery was only option .when the op takes place l will ask if they can leave some to preserve the facial nerve but l suppose the surgeon s won't know until the process of removing beings. The op will take all day and possible in to night l have been told.
My wife has had gamma knife surgery and a facial nerve transfer but did not take nerves from the leg? She also had to have a shunt fitted after the gamma knife but is doing well now 2 years on. Just ask as many questions as possible make sure you are exploring all options. Hope this helps, best of luck.
