I previously wrote about depressive episodes on here. I was in a bad way for a few months and I assumed it was due to my contraception. I have been off my pill for 2 weeks now and feeling happier about life, just thought I’d update as I was really considering therapy however I don’t feel as though I need it anymore. I don’t feel 100% happy but I’d say a lot better than before so I hope it only goes up any advice on how to stay positive and less negative about the past to prevent the depressive episodes from coming back?

Update: feeling better :)
Hi violet
I’m glad you are feeling well since you stopped taking your pill but please keep a close eye on your emotions and moods ...although you are thinking down a positive route and that’s very good just keep a close eye on yourself get a journal and if you do have depressive symptoms then write down what your feeling at the time it maybe that you will need to find what triggers you off but hopefully you won’t get anymore but if you do please go back to your doctor and we are all here to talk to.. the best positive advice I can give you as a sufferer is you are not alone and there is help out there
Good luck to you

hi glad to hear things are on the up.little suggestion you could note the positives in feeling healthier and happier and the negatives and put it up on your fridge as a reminder.even a family photo or something with significant meaning to you as a reminder why you need to keep going.even with little setbacks don't beat yourself up it just go again.
