Progesterone only pill

I started to take the POP approx 5-6 weeks ago. First month was over the counter Hana version, then got prescription (which is Zelleta). First month was absolutely fine. Had period on Hana and started taking the Zelleta towards the end of the period. I am still bleeding from the period which started 11 days ago. I thought it was just usual period tail off but it hasn't stopped and now it seems to be increasing from spotting to bleeding. I don't know what to do. Should I persevere, but I really don't want to keep bleeding; stop altogether now mid packet; go and buy the over the counter version and swap mid packet to see if that is better; or ?? I am at a loss but I really dont like this. Thanks if you've read this far

🤔 If you’re unable to have an appointment with your GP….it’s possible to speak to a Pharmacist in confidence

Yes, thanks. Think I'll have to as it's just getting worse. Would have to happen at Christmas, nothing I can do for a few days. Unsure whether to just stop taking it or wait til I can speak to someone.

Sorry to hear- I’m now on double dose pop (desogestrel) off my own back as it’s an unlicensed use, but I found guidance from Edinburgh and the Oxford endo specialist centre online this was a safe go-to option during Covid times when couldn’t access health care or while waiting for surgery. I’m taking it in the evening as had some nausea in the morning, and after some digestive weirdness (bloating, constipation) in the first couple of weeks I’m all good now. I’ve been booked in for my first gynaecology review in June and hope to have an informed discussion about hormonal suppression long-term. In the meantime…no bleeds :D

Best of luck to you finding what works xxx
