Frequent/recurring UTIs and advice

Hi, my wife seems to have periodic UTIs, one that didn't clear after initial treatment that required extending taking the medication, per my previous post healthunlocked.com/womenshe....

She just got UTI again, and noticed that she seems to get UTI roughly every 5 months, wonder if it is coincidental.

This all started after we started having penetration sex after marriage, though the UTI didn't show up right away. We do take precautions in that we bathe before sex, and clean up after and she urinates after before cleaning up.

She does occasionally drink cranberry juice. Though maybe she doesn't drink it often enough or stay hydrated well enough before or post our sexual activity?

Anyways wanted to post asking:

* how common is frequent or recurring UTIs for women? For those who find it common, how frequent does it reoccur for you?

* any tips for avoiding frequent/recurring UTIs?

I'm hoping my wife won't have to be on the low dosage antibiotics for life to manage the UTI. And if that was the case, at what point (or under what conditions) does the physician diagnose this to be the remedy to take?

🙂 Your wife will need to speak to her GP about recurring UTI…it’s likely she would be referred for investigation if the GP thinks it necessary.
