AF and reflux

hi everyone, I have had AF 15 years all under control now. I have always struggled with reflux and take omeprazole one 20mg per day. Just lately it is getting worse. I am 73 on Thursday. I was sent to A&E 24th of April triage nurse said may be suspected heart attack. Well that scared me. But I new in my head it was indigestion. I feel like my food gets stuck in my chest sometimes. I just ate a banana and it feels like it has stuck.I eat loads of bananas. I had terrible indigestion behind my breastbone last night, it is so uncomfortable. I feel so uncomfortable. Going to pop and see doctor tomorrow. Had a virus I think for the last two days as well. Diarrhea and such. Anyone any ideas?

you need an endoscopy it may be a small ulcer caused by the reflux

Drink smoothies and soup for now and see a doctor ASAP

Hi Nellie

I would definitely encourage you to visit your GP and request an endoscopy. When symptoms like yours are affecting you daily then it’s best to be prudent and get checked. The sooner you can the better. Your symptoms should be red flags for a GP. Maybe make some notes to take with you explaining what’s happening when you eat and after you eat. Wishing you well.
