This is a bit embarrassing I'm 8 weeks post op I had my 6 weeks check up he said I was still a little swollen and not all stitches had dissolved ...out of curiosity when i got home I took a mirror to have a look inside my vagina...not a pretty sight lol it looks very lumpy and strange I can't quite explain it ..not what I expected..I can't remember when I looked last with a mirror as with my prolapse it was a case of feeling the bulge and not atcually looking at it although that's gone but the inside of my vag looks awful...I'm sure he would have said if it wasn't normal lol..I'm just hoping to get bk to normal in a few weeks he said 3/4 weeks before I resume sex etc although this is the last thing I'm thinking at the moment ...what us woman go through men have no idea my husband certainly dosent..I'm decently returning as a man In my next life...haha x

Hi,

I’m defo coming back a man! I’ve two daughters and I’m always saying aren't we lucky... periods, childbirth and the aftermath of all that!, then the bloody menopause! Throw in all the housework/ homework/drudge and a full time job and yay life is fantastic! 😂

Anyway no it’s not embarrassing and anyone taking a mirror down below could never describe their “bits” as attractive. I remember after having my first daughter the horror of looking at the stitches and swollen bits and thinking things would never be right again.

I wish you a good recovery and remember things just take time. Have you got a follow up appointment? I’m sure they will check you over again.

Thanks for your message...yes we put our bodies through some shit don't we....I don't know but I have the knowledge bit in my vagina..its strange he only checked me last week so surely if it wasn't right he would have said....I don't want to say I regret the op as I know I won't but through a few set backs I had really waited to have it done later in the year ..the reason I had it done was my prolapse needed sorting but most of all the girls doing the ultrasounds said I had thicknkng of my uterus wall which post memo woman are quite of risk of cancer but when my surgeon did my op he said my uterus looked healthy so he didn't remove vit...I would have put up with my prolapse I had managed it for 10 yrs with hrt kegal 8 and vits but I had to stop the hrt so my prolapse got worse....anyway my consultant said I can go bk on a diff hrt..that dosent affect my uterus..so I'm def having that ..since I stopped it my joints are aching so much its ridiculous....anyway thanks for reaching out if u need advise maybe I can help xx

Hi,

Oh we sure do!

I’ve just had hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy for a bulky uterus and horrendous periods and pain. So I’m waiting for results and what to do next. He said things looked ok in there though and I have no signs of cancer so I’m not concerned but would love these periods to improve! I have a small fibroid which won’t be helping? He also said I have a slight prolapse. So I need to get doing pelvic floor exercises. I’ll blame the kids for that 🤣🤣

Hope the new HRT does the job for you. Pain really gets you down!

Enjoy the sun and Mother’s Day! No rest for the wicked here 😒
