Fibroids and hrt

I found a lump in my abdomen early April, which my gp also felt, in the next couple of weeks I could feel further lumps and was referred for a gynaecology scan which revealed a 6.5 cm ovarian cyst and a small fibroid. The mirema coil was removed at the same time. 5 weeks later I had an abdominal scan as I didn’t feel the original lump had been addressed, and now I have multiple fibroids. The consultant suggested stopping hrt, which I am reluctant to do as there is osteoporosis in my family. Any thoughts?

Well, if fibroids give no problem you don't have to do anything but monitor growth. I'm having hysterectomy because of them. Why are you on hrt?

Didn’t like the hot flushes etc, have family history of osteoporosis, don’t relish increased risks of heart disease, Alzheimer’s, osteoporosis, breast cancer etc due to no oestrogen. Can do without uterus but not spine or brain. I think I’ll just monitor for now and see how thing pan out.

Hope all goes well for you, really appreciate your reply, xxx
