Heya 😊 I’ve been experiencing moderate to severe mood swings just before my periods for a few years now. A while ago I went to my GP to check my hormone balance and everything resulted fine. I was advised I could take antidepressants to deal with my mood swings but I refused to and decided to deal with my symptoms by myself, with sport activities and mindfulness.
I’m now reconsidering my options, lockdown hasn’t been gentle to me and I’m now suffering from anxiety too.
Has anyone had a similar experience with PMS?

I am now perimenapausal bit have always had mood swings with my periods. My understanding is the dip in oestrogen and increase in progesterone can cause this. I used a tracking app to see where I was on my cycle which made it easier to realise my feelings has a reason and I wasn't mad! In the UK there is also the Balance App which helps with everything from periods to menapause. Hormones play a huge part in how we feel, perhaps track your cycle for a few months before you decide if antidepressants are the right thing for you 💛
