Hiya, I’m more than sure I suffer from Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction. I’m 21 and all the research I’ve done is about having it during pregnancy I’m not pregnant. I’ve always suffered with clicking and pain in my pelvis which is worse when exercising on my period. Eg. If I go for a run I can barely walk the next day. My mum suffered with this also which is why I’m sure it’s SPV. I’m not sure sure what I can do to help myself. I can’t imagine the doctors would refer me to anyone given the current pandemic. But if anyone has any advice that would be great. Thanks.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction
It is possible to have this and not be pregnant, one of the causes is arthritis, so it’s necessary to have a medical opinion. But in some cases no cause can be found. Some people are referred to a Chiropractor or Physiotherapist for manipulation which can give relief.
These home remedies may also reduce SPD-related discomfort:
placing a pillow between the legs when sleeping
avoiding sitting for too long
applying an ice pack to the pelvic area
staying active but avoiding any activities that cause pain
incorporating rest breaks every day
wearing supportive shoes
keeping the knees together when getting in and out of the car
performing Kegel exercises to strength
Hello Tashamae06, I had problems with my hips and pelvis that causes severe pain after any exercise. I had a year of physio to walk properly without pain but it wasn’t really rectified until I went to a really good osteopath. First one wasn’t as good. Second one was fab. I have to make sure I never twist or cross my legs, keeping an even frame constantly. Unfortunately it ramped up again during pregnancy and doing a 7minute walk took me 1hour 15mins in flood of tears it was so painful. I’d moved away from the osteopath unfortunately. Persist with your GP for physio help and find a good osteopath. Warm them to not do work where your leg is folding with your knee u to your chest. That makes it worse. Good luck.
You do need physio it's when your joints don't align physio can offer you crutches if you think they will help or one crutch don't do any heavy lifting standing on one leg things like that can make it worse limit daily activity .you could try wearing a band even though your not pregnant you can try it to align your hips as that is what it is I've worn one before when not pregnant due to pelvic pain
