I have an awful habit of straining when I go no2 . It all started when my diet changed for the better and I lost a lot of weight naturally my diet is more fasting type but I do eat I think a lot of fibre . Anyhow recently my no2s have become a bit harder but nothing major then normal etc but I do sometimes give myself a lot of pressure to go to the toilet almost like it is my mission to do everyday crazy I know!Anyhow I've noticed I got a god awful hard lump just on the outside of my anus and it is inside too from what I can feel I know I've had this before as my toilet habits was awful straining etc .
I've started to use preperation H 3 times a day wipe with moist wipes and salt baths still it is sore to touch and sitting in certain ways hurts also . I've only been using the cream for 2days I must say I am very inpatient and want it gone . Any suggestions ?sorry for TMI .

It won’t be any comfort but…you aren’t alone coping with Haemorrhoids. They are very common…and yes ..can sometimes be treated successfully with OTC preparations.
I’ve had problems myself…and every so often faeces becomes hard and difficult to pass..I know how awful this is..and straining makes the situation worse.
Diet, drinking sufficient water and keeping active can stimulate bowel muscles…which does help, but of course it isn’t an overnight solution to something that’s been ongoing for a while.
I was also having problems with Urinary Frequency..my GP referred me, and it was suggested that I try Laxido to relieve constipation..because a compacted bowel puts pressure on the bladder. I found it helpful in getting back into ‘a routine’…but it shouldn’t be relied on as a longterm solution.
If you can’t get any relief from pain and discomfort…put modesty aside and make an appointment with your GP.
I'm afraid patience is key here! The vein has blown out a bit and it will need time to heal and suck itself back in. Mine, which thankfully are rare, manifest as 'biting ants in bum' sensation 😁 and tend to resolve with conservative treatment over 2-4 weeks. If you are having to strain it means you have constipation and even if mild, it's something that needs to be addressed or that vein will continue to pop out periodically. It's important to wait until you are really ready to go, not when you think you should go. It's 8am and time for a poo is not the way to be relaxed enough for your muscles to do their job!
You could try adding some magnesium citrate supplements as that's known to soften stools a little although you need to dose carefully not to go the other way so start on a low amount and work up gradually over the course of a couple of weeks.
Obviously if you are bleeding a lot and the pain is severe and not resolving you must speak with your GP.
I eat a plant-based diet which is high in fiber. It's important when you eat a high fiber diet that you drink plenty of water. Fiber, especially insoluble fiber, adds bulk to stool and helps it pass more easily through the intestines. Without adequate water, fiber can lead to constipation and discomfort. This could then cause a hemorrhoid flare. I don't get constipated too often. But when I do, it's usually because I didn't drink enough water. Then I will occasionally take, Miralax. This is an osmotic laxative that pulls water into your bowels to soften things. It is a powder that you mix with water and is tasteless.
