C section - crutches , wheelchair , hyper mobility

Has anyone had a planned section that has hyper mobility and on crutches and wheelchair and can give me a little bit of advice or happy to answer some questions??

I can’t weight bare on my left leg , I’ve now got severe spd and bubba is breech and a bunch of other things so I’m having a planned section in 6 weeks and freaking out.

Rules atm are my partner can be in operating theatre and recovery with me and baby for 2 hours and then can’t come to the ward at all until he’s coming to pick us up

So I’m worried about not having him there to help me, I’m worried how I’m going to walk on my crutches after another big operation

Anyone been through something similar??

I've had a planned c section but don't have the other issues you have. On the ward the midwives will help you and I'm sure the other mums in the room will step up if needed, when I was in we would help each other.

Do you have help organised for when you get home ? You will need to take care of yourself as well which isn't always easy with a demanding new baby.

I’ll be in a side room on my own not on a ward with other mums thank god though i couldn’t deal with that😂

Yeah my mum is a nurse and will be with us 10 days and my partner is my carer and works from home anyway so I’ve got tons of support at home just dreading being in hospital for days alone with bubba and his dad not even be able to see him and every time I need something I’ll have to ring the bell lol even to get out of bed.

How did the operation go? How long is it roughly? Did you have a spinal block?

A side room sounds appealing especially given the current problems but it's good to have other new mums to talk to.

I did have an epidural and the op doesn't take long, well getting baby out is fairly quick but the prep and repair work takes a bit longer. The hospital where I was put c section babies in the nursery for the first night so mums could get some rest plus you may still have drips and so on hooked up so not easy to deal with crying baby !

I had my daughter on the Tues evening and was back home by Thurs evening, she was my 3rd so they were ok with me not staying in long.

Make sure the nurses know you will need extra support from them and don't be afraid to ask for it !

No I’m not that type of person I hate talking to other people like that especially women lol , when I had my son I was in a ward and had my curtains up I like my privacy and I physically have to be in a side room due to my health conditions

No way would I let them take my baby for the night , my hospital doesn’t even have a nursery lol

Yeah my midwife has sorted the extra care out it’s just so annoying I can’t have my partner with me especially as he’s my carer
