Contraceptive change

So I’m currently on the progestogen-only pill and I feel like lately my anxiety and mood swings are through the roof! I’m not normally like this I fee like I’m crying and getting overly emotional over the littlest things!

What do people recommend switching to?

I’ve already been on the combined pill and had to come off of if.

You could try the implant or if you really don't want more hormones, then the Mirena (copper) coil. The coil has no effects on hormones, but it can make your periods heavier.

The Mirena made me spotty and fat and I never stopped spotting blood for 15 months until I insisted they remove it and I ended up with an inflamed cervix (the NHS keep pushing women to use this as a contraceptive for some reason) .... it does not suit everyone.

I know how you feel, it did the same to me and made me bleed consistently for 6 weeks however I switched to maexemi a form of the combined pill.

I’d say try the depo injection first as the implant and coil have to be removed if you don’t like that too which is just long and apparently painful x

I understand , I'm on the mini pill and I've noticed that my depression is worse since I've been on contraception I think I'm just going to stop taking them altogether because it's affected my mood a lot when I wasn't taking it my depression was not so often now it's every day before being on the pill my depression was due to pms just it was only just before a period
