Pregnant with IUD

Hello.

This past week has been particularly rough for my husband and I. A week ago today, we found out we are pregnant. This will be our third child. We were certainly shocked to learn this since I have had a ParaGard IUD in place for a little over a year. I had the device put in at my 6 week checkup after having my daughter in March of 2018.

We visited our OBGYN immediately. He discussed the good and the bad. After a pelvic check, he told us the strings of the IUD could not be seen. So we were just going to have to ride it out and see what happens.

I’m curious. Any ladies going through or have gone through the same situation? I know it’s not too incredibly common. Thanks!
