My doctor after nearly three years of periods the either come three monthly or three weekly (mostly three monthly). I turned 45 last month and they finally decided I am in peri menopause as my levels (the hormones that makes you ovulate) are 58 the highest should be 30. Does this make sense?
Anyway my partner and I had decided to let nature take its course and not use any protection when it all began. Now I’m feeling a little low as I know for sure I cannot have another child. I know this is probably really silly but I feel really bad about it.
I’m hoping to have HRT as I am permanently hot but need some tests first for my heart health.

Hi HappyNoodle, I had a coil removed and two ovarian cysts at aged 45. I am now into my fourth year period free so believe I am now post-menopause, aged 49. Not sure though that my male GP knows an awful lot though about the menopause! I understand your feelings about no children and this is something that may come and go in your feelings, it is hard to accept for a while. Think carefully about HRT but there are now some good forums out there; a lot more women are talking about their own menopause. I found a FB group called the Menopause café - you may find that one of these is happening in your area.
