Brittle Nails Anyone?
Hi, I had something like this for a few years. I kept showing them to my GP with no comment from him. I was unwell and had many symptoms at the time. I was eventually prescribed levothyroxine for an under active thyroid and my nails went back to normal. Just something to consider.
This is happening to me just now. I have a few autoimmune diseases..so presumed it was one of them...of perimenopause?? They look really ugly. I bought a nail fungal paint got about £30 and painted it on religiously...but no change. Any info on lines and brittle nails would be amazing.
This sounds like it might be thyroid to me.Do youhvae any other symptoms such as weight gain, tiredness, hair loss, slow pulse. It is a condition that very often goes undiagnosed and blood tests relied on by doctors to diagnose are becoming widely understood as not as reliable as previously thought. It might be an idea to ask your GP to test blood and then post results on thyroid uk (even if the doctorsays normal).
I am exhausted all the time and I tend to lose more hair than I'd like. Thanks I think I'll talk to my GP and ask for blood tests.
