thanks for the advice i am reading all about the 12 week plan but need to work out meal plans and then the calories but my weight seems grow just by breathing fresh air i just feel very down about the fact iam trying to reduce all my food intake plus cut down on calories and getting no where at the moment but on the posative side it is early days so i am going to give myself a month and excercise and see what the results are

Well, although it can seem weird when you're trying to lose weight, you must make sure you eat and drink enough (non-alcoholic, of course!) otherwise your body can put you in 'famine' mode and slow down your metabolism.

Make sure to eat some lean protein (eggs/chicken/fish/ham/low fat cheese/lentils/beans) with a small amount of carbohydrate (slice of wholemeal bread/ 2 -3 ricecakes/ cup cooked rice/pasta / 2-3 small potatoes or a small baked potato) and loads of veggies/salad with a tiny bit of low fat dressing or other low cal sauce + some fruit to follow with maybe low fat yogurt for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a couple of small snacks in between (maybe the fruit/yogurt) so your body knows there's a steady supply of food coming in and that it's ok to make up the difference it needs from your fat stores.

It's also really important to make sure to drink plenty of sugar-free fluids throughout the day to keep you hydrated (we're 90% water, after all!) and it helps wash away the bad stuff!

Personally, I try to avoid 'diet' foods and am working on gradually re-educating my palate to preferring less sugar/salt etc. So if you love chocolate, buy the one you like best but try grating just a little bit of it over your yogurt or fromage frais. Or if cheese is your thing, try the same over your veg/salad or pasta etc.

is really useful for healthy eating and meal ideas so if you haven't done so already why not take a look?
