Good morning everyone. I'm interested to compare what exercise everyone does and how frequently? I'm 156 lb, 5ft 3". I run 2/3 times a week, try to walk 10,000 steps a day (I managed 5 days out of 7) and dO a full body workout twice a week. The weight is coming off (very slowly) but I was wondering what everyone else does? X

What exercise does everyone do?
Hi Rara78,
Personally I do isotonic/isometric stuff twice a day (normally) using a old Bullworker that I got off ebay. It may seem an odd choice, but I has one years ago when I was probably in my peak condition in terms of fitness and weight, so it was bit like an old friend getting back into doing that.
I also do a few floor exercises and some pretty standard stretches. I also walk a big dog and throw and kick balls for him and generally - now that I'm a bit fitter and lighter - walk about and run up stairs and stuff.
I don't keep an exact and precise log of everything I do and with the dog's hairs I could probably add doing the vaccuum cleaning as an exercise 'session' too!
Hi Rara78, I run three to four times a week - I have put myself back onto a 10k training programme just to regain winter loss of fitness but am planning to go onto a half marathon programme after completion of the 16 week programme. Both plans are done by app on my phone using Runkeeper. I do admire anybody doing 10,000 steps a day, I know it is do-able but it takes focus and dedication and you have cracked it. I am so impressed with that.
I go to the local gym every day on my way into work. I only have 45mins so I tend to do a 150 Calories burn on the hand-bike as a warm up, then 3x30 crunches/mat work, 3x30 back pulls @55kg and 3x25 @50kg on the abs machine. My main aim to to get rid of my spare tyre and so far I've reduced my waist/belly by six inches (since 01-01-2013). Including the 50% Calorie reduction program, I've also lost 10.1kg in weight too. Week-end days I do more.
Hey guys, wow you all do loads!!!! I've been for a run this evening ( 90 seconds running/ 90 secs walking) I'm working on it!!!! I'm also on a 1400 calorie a day diet, I'm questioning whether I'm doing enough?!!!
Hi Rara78,
For me the answer as to whether I'm getting it 'right' is revealed in the scales in the morning
If I'm still usually losing weight - and not too fast - over the week and I'm not feeling constantly hungry, or weak from hunger, or any other sort of negative effect - (O.K. the odd aching muscle here and there, but that's par for the course) - then I'm doing it about right.
For me, it's been a case of so far, so good.
I, for one, have found upping the exercise to be really helpful in my journey.
As far as I'm concerned, this weight has just got to go. I'm absolutely fed up with carrying it around with me and its negative effects upon my health and wellbeing.
I've lost nearly 8 kgs since 11th January, when I started, and I've got about 18 more to lose to be at the top of the 'normal' range for BMI.
If I make it to the halfway point of that journey during this period of 12/13 weeks, I'll be very happy.
Good luck.
Hi Rara78,
I go to circuits 2 - 3 times a week this is for 30 minute session, I have just started with a fitbit which records all my activity & I have set a goal to try and do 7000 steps per day (I have a sit down job & this is a challenge for me) I have also started to cycle at weekends, but not far as yet anywhere between 10 & 20 minutes, Im working with the assumption build up from nowhere slowly and enjoy it not make it a chore. Good luck with your continueing loss of weight. ps my weight loss has been slow but I am still doing it which is a result in itself.
