The great advantage of water is that it contains no calories and your body needs hydration, so it's a very good way of hydrating it.

However, flavour it with what you like really - but try not to put a lot of calories into it as you do that. Unsweetened fruit juice, or low-caloried squash will probably both work quite well.

Or, heat it up, and put a tea-bag in, or some coffee - that counts too.

Personally, I do 'green' or 'white' tea which are apparently high in antioxidants. Like black ordinary tea, as there's no sugar or milk, there's no calories.

(No - putting a large slug of gin or vodka into it is not a good idea for people trying to lose weight! Though having your glass of red wine 50/50 with water - depending on the wine - isn't a bad idea).

We ran out of water in work a couple of weeks ago so I took a bottle of flavoured water, when I checked the calories it was just under 100 cals for 500mls for lemon & lime water sparkling water...I wished I had a Sprite Zero!

I find sparkling water quite a good, it has a different taste to tap water and is a little more exciting than plain water. Jo xx

make your own calorie free flavoured water. Slice a lemon or orange or lime - or all three - put in a large jug with a lid and cover with water. Put it in the fridge overnight before using to allow the flavours to infuse.

I make mine with sliced lemon, sliced cucumber, a handful of mint leaves and a few slices of root ginger. It makes drinking your water quota very easy.
